Wow. That sums up the past three days pretty well.
The time period after the last immunity challenge and before the reward challenge were deceptively calm... and I now know why. After the last challenge we sent Oz to exile in what had to be one of the most futile attempts at finding a majority in the history of organized voting. Finally Colleen and Liz spoke up with a great point, that it is a lot smarter to make sure only one person has a chance at the clue to the hidden immunity idol. Hilo has really struggled in terms of cohesive activity and it's starting to affect us in challenges. Well the rest of the day was pretty quite with a couple messages back and forth with a couple alliance mates from Hilo.
The next day I had my whole game thrown for a loop. I was awoken from quite a cozy slumber by a message from Bob... the reward challenge had been announced and I was the reward! This caught me off guard at first and immediately invoked two thoughts: "Wow, the other team must really want me" and "So that's what the reward challenges will be like". The exciting news wore off rather quickly as I fell back into my slumber knowing that I had the rest of the day off from competition. I got up around twelve-noon and was eager to see how the challenge was going. And in no surprise to me, the Hilo tribe didn't seem to be doing much at all. This bothered me as Bob and I are supposed to be the final two and I would expect a much bigger effort to keep me on the Hilo tribe, I know I would've given every single thing in my being to save Bob. My AIM blew up during the comp; I heard from Ozzy for the first time and oddly he informed me of the first clue to the hidden immunity idol on exile isle, I heard from Penner who was trying to convince me that he will keep me safe if I land on Puna; and I heard from at least five different people that Ethan wants me out... no one has agreed with his plan, yet, to my knowledge. Liz has been my best ally in the game so far: she alerted me of her idol, she is always asking what the plan will be (allowing me to lead) and she has a spy from Puna that has given her a great insight into their teams plans. Liz even warned me to keep my wits about me and pay attention to Penner who is supposedly targeting me for wanting James out, which peaked my interest as I let only a select few know of my plans. I still trust Bob, even though I may just move Liz up to my #2, and Colleen is now getting a thorough review as she was talking with James before we even got tribes and was a person who got to hear my plans.
Today was quite interesting as well. We got our immunity challenge and a great surprise, I am safe for the first tribal Puna sees. I was puzzled most of the day by the lack of activity this tribe has for an immunity challenge, especially since I thought this was the more active tribe. I'm going all out for the win, but I can't help thinking the tribe is throwing this. I'm still not sure how long I will be on this tribe, as I'm not sure if I can be picked by Hilo to be competed over in the next reward challenge (which could go all season).
I'm looking forward to the results for the immunity comp and to see who the tribe will be voting for at tribal, I may press to assemble some people to vote out Ethan, who I'm sure possess this camp's hidden idol. Even if he doesn't leave knowing he played it will be a huge advantage. I'll be talking to Liz about getting the tribe to send me to exile over Oz if we lose and I'll try and send her if we win.
This can keeps getting more and more intriguing, I can't wait to see what tomorrow brings.
